Family Syllabus: A humble and loving American family in Dubai is looking for an experienced nanny to help care for and teach their 10-year-old son. The family is easy-going, fun, positive, quirky, and looking for a nanny who loves what they do and is happy to spend the day engaging with their son. The family is open to hiring a live-in or live-out nanny and they have a private bedroom and bathroom on the bottom level of their home with a separate entrance. They are excited to find a nanny who wants to grow with them and make a long-term commitment. Their home is in the city centre, making it a fun work location for the nanny, both because of the views from the home and it’s a great place to visit and take walks. Both parents are professionals, and one currently works from the home. Exceptional care and Mandarin language skills are extremely important to this family. The family will provide a nanny vehicle, but there will not be much driving involved as the family does most of the driving.

Ideal Candidate: The family’s ideal candidate is affectionate, trustworthy, humble, down-to-earth, easy-going, and outstanding with communication. A nanny who is fluent English language skills is essential! The family is looking for a nanny with experience and knowledge of child development. They would love a nanny that is flexible, professional, confident and open to collaboration, detail-oriented, positive, and loving. A nanny who is excited to take their son on walks, play, encourage and explore age-appropriate activities would fit in great! A college degree is preferred, but not required. Nannies who are proactive, engaging, and compassionate will thrive in this role. Please love animals as the family has two small dogs.

Job Synopsis: Please be a team player open to supporting the family with all baby-related tasks and feedings. This role is paying $15-$30/hour gross and is offering two weeks of paid vacation, paid sick time, 5 major holidays per year, a health insurance stipend, a phone stipend, and performance bonuses. No travel or overnights will be required for this position. The family is open to helping with some relocation costs for the right fit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Nannying: 2 years (Preferred)
College degree (Preferred, but not required)

Tuesday 1:30-6pm
Every other Friday 2:30-6pm

Half-term and school holidays:
Monday 10am-6pm
Tuesday 10am-6pm
Wednesday 9am-2pm
Every other Friday 10am-6pm
Potential weekend day here or there (about once a month)

Family Assistant hours can be flexible and up for discussion with the House Manager.

PRIMARY NANNY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Childcare: creating an engaging and fun day for child
• Playing games: outdoor activities
• Creative activities: summer long term projects
• Managing Child’s schedule and activities
• Daily activities including helping with homework during the school year
• Looking ahead at school breaks to plan activities
• Planning playdates
• Driving to and from after school activities
• Making appointments based around current schedule
• Admin: being in communication with, and managing child’s school and activities
• Staying on top of the activity schedule
• Checking email updates from school
• Checking school website/newsletter for upcoming activities/events

FAMILY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Household: making sure common areas are clean and organised
• Cooking/prepping meals: our house manager creates a menu each week and you would help cook when she needs the extra support
• Errands: home related errands (groceries, post office, dry cleaning etc..)
• Admin: research for activities for father and son
• Meeting documentation: expense tracking
• Meetings: daily connection with Dad to inform him of any school news, or child related updates
• Weekly meetings with other members of the team to discuss upcoming week and problem solve if needed
• Meeting with our parenting coach once a month to discuss any challenges/obstacles regarding the child

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 – $30.00 per hour
